Rowdy: Wild and Mean, Sharp and Keen is my big debut. What began as an end of the day story for my Kindergarten class (way back in 2002) slowly developed into a Western novel full of danger, adventure, and a young man's journey to find out what he is truly made of. Now, the stories about Rowdy have expanded and is now a trilogy with books 2 & 3 in development. Look for teasers and publication dates. Join Rowdy as he battles for survival and seeks to fully understand the wisdom given to him by his late father...
"A man acts like one because he has to. A boy acts like one when he wants to. What are you?"
An orphaned boy’s fight for survival sends him down the mighty Mississippi and across the old west where life and death decisions force him to stand for what is right, regardless of the cost. Battles with river pirates, renegade Indians, a pack of hungry wolves, and the iniquitous Patrick Byrne keep Rowdy fighting for survival in the unforgiving wilds of the early West.
A group of writers from Western Writers of America, led by author MIchael Ritt, came together to help fill the shelves of the Alberton Branch Library with Western LIterature. When all the books were shelved the library gained a total of 75 new books written by some of the best western genre writers in the business. Rowdy: Wild and Mean, Sharp and Keen stands amongst those 75 books patiently waiting for readers, who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to read a western novel without the efforts of this outstanding organization.
