School Visits:

Full-day - up to 4 sessions + Author Meet & Greet

Half-day A.M. or P.M. - up to 2 sessions

Storytime with Chris - 1 hour

Teacher Inservice/Workshop - 1 hour

All programs are interactive, conversational, informational, and most of all FUN!  

Sessions can include:

• All sessions can be tailored to the needs of the school, class, or group.
• Up to four 1 hour sessions 
• Chris hopes to stimulate creative thought in the group and encourage participants to not only become avid readers, but creative thinkers. Retaining an active imagination is such an important thing to, not only hold onto but develop beyond childhood years.
• An open discussion and brief history of Chris' journey from award-winning teacher to award-winning author, starting with the origin of Rowdy. He will share his insight and experience in the publishing world and entertain any and all questions from the audience. Chris will also discuss the process he takes for the development of his Rowdy series and will read an excerpt from the novel. 
• A writing "workshop" can be added to the end of any 1 hour session to facilitate a hands on lesson and writing project.- sessions can be combined for a hands-on workshop in creative writing to include: story structure, problem/solution, beginning/middle/end, brainstorming ideas, strategies in story design, and 1-1 discussions with students. Limit to 2 morning sessions and 2 afternoon sessions.
• 30 minute Author meet and greet with Q/A
• Lunch with students/class if appropriate
• Students have the opportunity to participate in the chrismullenwrites.com Creative Writing Contest. They may enter the story they develop in the session or submit a different original story, as long as it fits the parameters of the contest.
• 1st Place Winner will have their story PUBLISHED on chrismullenwrites.com.
• School/Group receives a copy of the Rowdy: Wild and Mean, Sharp and Keen Teachers Guide
• A copy of Rowdy: Wild and Mean, Sharp and Keen will be presented to the school/group Library

           Session includes:

• 1 hour workshop with Chris
• Chris will share his experiences as a Teacher with staff and will focus on the creative projects and methods he used in his classroom over a 23-year career. Discussion topics could include video production of student-created short films, production of a student illustrated children's story, story building, confidence building in kids, methods for getting students thinking creativly, a suggested timeline for projects, ideas for completion that promote the student, the classroom, and the school.
